most of the information here was gathered by Gabbie

1996

artist: Color Me Badd
album: 'Now & Forever'
song: "The Earth, the Sun, the Rain" [lyrics]

what they did: Louis Biancaniello, working with/for Narada Michael Walden at the time, served as Associate Producer on this track, and also did keyboards and programming. Sam Watters, of course, was a member of Color Me Badd, and therefore did part of the vocals. This was when Sam and Louis first met, and noticed how well they worked together (all together now: "awwww").

1997

artist: Simone Hines
album: 'The Soul Train Christmas Starfest' [various artists]
song: "God Bless the Dreamer" [lyrics]

what they did: written by Hamza Lee, Color Me Badd [Sam Watters, Kevin Thornton, Mark Calderon, Bryan Abrams], and Louis Biancaniello. Produced, co-engineered, and co-arranged by Louis Biancaniello. Backing vocals by Color Me Badd (including Sam, of course). Keyboards and all programming by Louis Biancaniello. *This song was covered by Tamyra Gray on her 2004 debut album, "The Dreamer."

1998

artist: Color Me Badd
album: 'Awakening'

songs:
"Love is Stronger Than Pride" [lyrics]
"Your Touch" [lyrics]
"I'll Never Love This Way Again" [lyrics]
"Remember When" + [lyrics]
"It's Gonna Be Alright" [lyrics]

what they did: All five titles were written by Louis Biancaniello, and Color Me Badd (the last title included co-writers Tim Peterson, and Terence Dudley), and were produced, arranged, programmed, and engineered by Louis Biancaniello. All of them were, of course, performed by Color Me Badd --- no Sam Watters solos among them, unfortunately. There was also a "Remember When" maxi-single featuring alternate versions (a tribute to the Oklahoma City Bombing victims [lyrics], an "urban" mix featuring a female rapper [lyrics], and a club/dance mix [same lyrics as original]), all co-written, produced, and remixed by Louis Biancaniello.

artist: Patti Austin
album:'Street of Dreams'
song: "I Only Have Eyes for You" [lyrics]

what they did: Produced by Louis Biancaniello, background vocals by Color Me Badd. Louis produced most of this album, but this was the only track Sam played a part in as well. This is the last known thing Color Me Badd recorded together.

artist: Gino Vannelli
album: 'Slow Love'
song: "A Woman Crossed in Love" [lyrics]

what they did: co-produced, co-arranged, and co-programed by Louis Biancaniello. Sounds and synthesis by Louis Biancaniello. Backgound vocals by Sam Watters (and Gino Vannelli himself).

1999

artist: Jessica Simpson
album: 'Sweet Kisses'

songs:

"I Wanna Love You Forever" + [lyrics]
"Where You Are" (featuring Nick Lachey) + [lyrics]
"Heart of Innocence" [clip] [lyrics]

what they did: the first title was written strictly by Biancaniello &Watters, the second they co-wrote with Nick Lachey and M. Stamatopoulou. The third was written by Jessica Simpson, G.Baker, F.J. Meyers, and P. Carpenter. On all three titles; production and arrangements were by Louis and Sam, Louis played instruments, and Sam did backing vocals. "Where You Are" was also on the featured on the soundtrack and in the film, Here on Earth.

artist: Lara Fabian
album: 'Lara Fabian'
song: "Till I Get Over You" [lyrics]

what they did: wrote and produced together, Biancaniello did keyboards & programming, Watters does background vocal duty.

2000

artist: Anastacia
album: 'Not That Kind'

songs:
"I'm Outta Love"+ [lyrics] [clip]
"I Ask of You" [lyrics] [clip]
"Made For Lovin' You" + [lyrics]
"Don'tcha Wanna" (U.S. version only) [lyrics] [clip] [clip of Sam]

what they did: both co-wrote with Anastacia, and produced, Louis did keyboards & programming, and Sam did backing vocals (on all tracks). Both did drums on "I'm Outta Love" and "Made For Lovin' You." Sam has sort of a mini-solo in "Don'tchaWanna," as well (clip available above). "Made for Lovin' You" was used in a Honda commercial which aired in the U.K. in 2001.

artist: 98°
album: 'Revelation'
song: "You Don't Know" [lyrics]

what they did: Biancaniello & Watters co-wrote with Nick Lachey (of 98° - husband of Jessica Simpson), and produced. Keyboards, programming, and mixing by Louis Biancaniello.

2001

artist: Jessica Simpson
album: 'Irresistible'

songs:
"There You Were" (featuring Marc Anthony) [lyrics]
"For Your Love" [lyrics]

what they did: co-wrote "There You Were" with T. Lacy, produced and arranged themselves. Sam sings backing vocals, as well a small (gorgeous!) solo [clip] .

"For Your Love" was written, produced, arranged, and engineered by Biancaniello and Watters. As usual, Louis Biancaniello did keyboards and programming, Sam Watters did backing vocals.

artist: Monica Naranjo
album: 'Chicas Malas'
song: "Sacrificio" + [lyrics]

what they did: Louis and Sam wrote and produced, Louis on keys & programming, Sam on backing vocals.

2001/2002

artist: Anastacia
album: 'Freak of Nature'

this album was released in the U.S. in 2002, but just about everywhere else in late 2001.

songs:
"You'll Never Be Alone" + [lyrics]
"One Day in Your Life" + [lyrics]
"Don't Stop (Doin' It)" [lyrics] [sound clip]
"Don'tcha Wanna" [lyrics]

what they did:The usual, great formula - Louis and Sam wrote (along with Anastacia) and produced, Louis on keys & programming, Sam on backing vocals. Sam is the male echo in "Don't Stop (Doin'it)," and as mentioned in the Not That Kind info, sings a small solo on "Don'tcha Wanna." You can hear him pretty well in "You'll Never Be Alone," as well. As a big Sam Watters fan, that's a very good thing for me -- I'm still holding out hope for a Sam album someday. *fingers crossed*

"Don't Stop (Doin it)" was featured in the film 'Master of Disguise' [starring Dana Carvey], but was not actually on the soundtrack. {thanks, Gabbie}

2002

artist: Celine Dion
album: 'A New Day Has Come'
song: "I Surrender" [lyrics]

what they did: They both wrote it, & Sam Watters sang backgrounds. This song was also performed by Kelly Clarkson during competition on the hit TV show, American Idol.

artist: Mary Griffin
album: 'Purified'

songs:
"You Need Love" [lyrics]
"Anytime" [lyrics] [sound clip]
"I Surrender" [lyrics]

Japan release had these songs by B&W
(but not the others listed above):
"Dying Inside" [lyrics] [clip]
"Without You" + [lyrics]

what they did: All were written/produced by Biancaniello & Watters. "Without You," was released as a single, but wasn't included on the album outside of Japan. "Anytime" was in the film Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, but not on the soundtrack album.

"Anytime" was also recorded by Kelly Clarkson, "I Surrender" was also recorded by Celine Dion. Mary Griffin sang background vocals (with Sam Watters) on the other artists' versions.

2002/2003

artist: H & Claire
album: 'Another You, Another Me'

released in some areas in 2002, others in 2003

songs:
"Another You, Another Me" [sound clip] [lyrics]
"There You Were" [lyrics]
"Nothing At All" [lyrics ]

what they did: Produced "Another You, Another Me," [written by two members of the group ABBA], wrote "There You Were" (previously released by Jessica Simpson and Marc Anthony), and wrote/produced "Nothing At All."

2003

artist: Monica Naranjo
album: Bad Girls
song: "What About Love" [lyrics]

what they did: This is the hard-to-find English language edition of the 'Chicas Malas' album. The English version of "Sacrificio" is known as "What About Love." We're assuming that Biancaniello & Watters did the same things here as they did on the original: wrote and produced, Louis on keys & programming, Sam on backing vocals [although not as noticeably]. There is also a Double CD Edition that includes the 'Corky Mix' of "What About Love." Thanks for this, Gabbie!

artist: Kelly Clarkson
album: 'Thankful'
song: "Anytime" [clip] [lyrics]

what they did: written by Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello, Produced and Arranged by Louis Biancaniello and Sam Watters, Enginerred By Louis Biancaniello, Sam Watters & Sean Tallman, Background Vocals: Sam Watters, Gonesha Owens & Mary Griffin

2004

artist: Tamyra Gray

songs:
"Legend" [lyrics]
^ * "Raindrops Will Fall" + [lyrics]
^ * "Ha Ha" [lyrics]
"U've Only Got 1" [lyrics]
^ * "Faces" [lyrics]
* "Yesterday/Today" [lyrics]
^ "God Bless the Dreamer" [lyrics]

what they did: co-wrote, produced, and arranged the songs marked with ^ --- produced and arranged the others. "God Bless the Dreamer" (a cover of the Simone Hines song mentioned above), and "Raindrops Will Fall" also feature background vocals by Sam Watters [sadly, not very clearly]. Louis Biancaniello played instruments on tracks marked with *

artist: Alexia
album: 'Gli Occhi Grandi Della Luna'
songs:
"You Need Love" [lyrics]
"Come Tu Mi Vuoi" (Italian version of "You Need Love") [lyrics]

what they did: Biancaniello & Watters wrote and produced "You Need Love," and co-wrote and produced an Italian version of it called "Come Tu Mi Vuoi," with Roberto Ferri [he did the lyric translation]. "You Need Love" was also recorded by Mary Griffin [as you may have noticed above]. This tidbit was found by Gabbie [as are most things] -- she's always on the lookout for B&W work to inform our visitors about!

artist: Fantasia
album: 'Free Yourself'
song: "I Believe" + [lyrics]

Fantasia's successful first single was, of course, featured on this debut release.

what they did: This song hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart -- a first for Louis and Sam!! "I Believe" was produced and co-written by Biancaniello & Watters (along with 'American Idol 1' contestant Tamyra Gray). Sam Watters and Tamyra Gray sing background vocals.

artist: Diana DeGarmo ('American Idol 3' runner-up)
song: "I Believe" [lyrics]

what they did: "I Believe" is included as a B-side on Diana's first single, "Dreams." As noted above, "I Believe" was co-written by Louis Biancaniello, Sam Watters, and Tamyra Gray. Biancaniello & Watters produced this version as well; Sam Watters and Tamyra Gray sing background vocals.

2005

artist: Alexia
album: 'Da Grande' [greatest hits collection]
songs:
"You Need Love"
"Come Tu Mi Vuoi"

See the 'Gli Occhi Grandi Della Luna' entry above for information on these songs.

artist: Monica Naranjo
album: 'Coleccion Privada' [greatest hits collection]
song: "Sacrificio"

what they did: See the 'Chicas Malas' entry above for details.

artist: Hiromi Go
cd single: 'It Becomes the Place Where You Can Cry'
song: "Don't Lie to Me" [lyrics]

what they did: Wrote the music and lyrics for "Don't Lie to Me," the only English song on the single. It was produced and arranged by Miklos Malek, which probably means Sam and Louis never even met with the artist. It's a pretty good song, kind of in the vein of Marc Anthony or Ricky Martin. I think it would've been even better had Sam and Louis produced it.

artist: Anastacia
album: 'Pieces of a Dream' (Greatest Hits)
songs:
"I'm Outta Love"
"Made For Lovin' You"
"One Day in Your Life"
"You'll Never Be Alone"

what they did: Sam and Louis produced and co-wrote these songs (with Anastacia) on her first two albums, 'Not That Kind' and 'Freak of Nature,' and they're included in this hits package. Fans of Anastacia may also want to know that this album includes some new tracks as well. This was released in November of 2005 in many areas, but not in the United States yet.

2006

artist: Jessica Simpson
album: 'A Public Affair'
songs:
"A Public Affair"+ [lyrics]
"If You Were Mine"
"The Lover in Me"

The music for "A Public Affair" was co-written by Biancaniello & Watters. "If You Were Mine" was co-written [along with Greg Kurstin, Tamyra Gray, and J. Sewell] and co-produced [along with Greg Kurstin] by B&W, keyboards and programming by Louis Biancaniello. "The Lover in Me" was co-written by B&W, along with Jessica Simpson, Tamyra Gray, C. Childress, and J. Austin.
