instructions for installing the Chip theme

*based on directions by Kyla, and CK/Dreamtrance

to see the Chip Skylark mood theme go here (opens in a new window)

*you're welcome to use these for any online journal if you know the installation procedure - I'm only familiar with LiveJournal, so that's what these instructions are for

  1. you have to have a LiveJournal paid account

  2. right-click and save this file: chipmoodsinput.txt

  3. you need to be logged in to your journal, then go here: LiveJournal Admin Console
(it will open in a new window so you can keep following these directions)

  4. in the little box, enter: moodtheme_create "chip moods" "Chip Skylark mood icons"
    and then click 'execute'

  5. the following page will say "Success. Your new moodthemeid=a number." That number is really important to remember so write it down somewhere.

  6. do not close this window yet.

  7. open chipmoodsinput.txt. (the file you downloaded in step 2.)

  8. change all the "####" to whatever the number of your mood theme is (the one LiveJournal generated for you).

    for example: moodtheme_setpic #### 106 http://nsyncable.com/journalmoods/chip/crazy.jpg 85 65

    #### would be your number (and everything else needs to stay exactly as it is)

  9. go back to the browser window. In the little box underneath where it gave you your mood icon set number, copy and paste all the codes from chipmoodsinput.txt. (after you've changed the #### to your own number). Click 'execute'

  10. if it worked, you'll get a page that says 'data inserted' over and over and over. (it if says "Failed! You do not own this theme!," all that means is that you probably didn't change all the codes from #### to your number)

  11. go to Modify Journal

  12. in the drop down menu to select your mood icon set, choose 'chip moods' (It will be at the bottom of the list under 'Personal Themes')

  13. click 'Save Changes'

  14. email me at hey-you@nsyncable.com if you're going to use them, so I can keep track, and notify those using the theme if anything changes, goes wrong, etc.
I hope you like them!
