Firstly, let me start out with this: This site is in no way officially affiliated with Mr. Nicholas Lea, or his management; it is simply a fan project, no infringment is intended.

// about fixations //

In general...
The concept was thought up by Kath (who runs The Fixations Network). A Fixation is not so much a site for a subject, but a site that displays the talents of that subject's fanbase. Fixations include a clique (well, most do) for fans to join, and serve as an archive for fanart, writings, etc. Typically, they also include some information on the film, show (or in this case, actor) that they're in honor of.
I'm a bit new to the Fixations world myself, so I hope I've expressed it clearly and properly.

In particular...
This fixation is in honor of actor Nicholas Lea, probably best known as Alex Krycek on "The X-Files," Victor Mansfield on "Once a Thief," and Officer Ricky Caruso on "The Commish." More about him can be found in the 'about Nick' section.

Hopefully, this fixation will incorporate the talents of the active group of Nick fans who use LiveJournal.com ("LJ"). So much great art has been created by these fans over the years, and I'd love to have some of it archived here.

Don't misunderstand, you do not have to be a LiveJournal user to participate in this fixation. This is not an exclusive or "elite" site by any means -- everyone is welcome! I merely mentioned LJ because that's where many Nick fans get together (and it seems most fixation owners have LJs, too).

about the name "Captivating" . . .
[definitions from dictionary.com] captivating: "Capturing interest as if by a spell." The root word, captivate means: "To attract and hold by charm, beauty, or excellence."

The word "captivating" just popped in my head one day, then I looked it up to get the exact meaning. When I saw how well it fit Nick, it became the logical name for this Fixation. :)
