Dictionary definition: "An exclusive circle of people with a common purpose." In internet terms, a clique is a place for people with similar interests to be listed - as a way of agreeing with the statement made at the clique site. Sometimes, cliques are for something very serious, like "we vow not to drink and drive," and other times, they're not. In the case of the Nicholas Lea Fixated Clique, members are basically saying "I'm fixated on Nicholas Lea" when they join. In other words, all the people listed as clique members here all agree that Nick is a captivating individual (hence the name of this fixation). This is not a fanlisting. Although the premise may seem similar on the surface, it's really quite different. Cliques are about making a statement about something. Granted, the statement of this site is pretty lighthearted compared to some -- we're dedicated Nicholas Lea fans, we're not vowing to save the rain forest (although, that would be pretty awesome... let's work on that, too). ;) |
