// about fixations //

Fixations are the brain child of Kath from The Fixations Network. Basically, fixations are sites where fans go to interact with each other. Typical fixations include: fan art (icons, wallpaper...), a clique for fans to join, a message board/forum or guestbook, fan writings (reviews, encounters...), etc.

As with any type of website, content will vary slightly according to who "owns" it, but those are the basics. :) The goal of a fixation is to bring fans of a certain topic (in this case, The X-Files) together -- to pool their talents, opinions, etc.

The Fixations Network works like other networks in that one fixation is approved per subject. However, it should be noted that this is where the similarity to other networks ends -- fixations are a whole new deal.

I enjoy fixations, because I've always loved being in contact with people in my fandoms. It's nice to find people who know what you're talking about when you randomly quote an X-Files episode, or ask "what was the one where...?" It's also cool to see how different fans interpret the meaning of a particular episode, line, scene, etc.
